TEACHERS or PARENTS?

Values are individual beliefs that motivate people to act one way or another, as defined by many sources in the internet. They serve as guide for human behavior, generally, we are predisposed to adopt the values that they are raised with. We also tend to believe that these values are “right” or “proper” because they are the values of our particular culture.

Value denotes the degree of importance of something or action with the aim of determining what actions are best to do or what is best or live, or to describe the significance or different values. Values is “valere” in Latin which means to be strong, to be well and to be of value or worth.

As this article entitled Teachers or Parents, I really wonder if who must instil good values to children entrusted to us. The teachers or the parents? I, as a teacher may answer this on a teacher’s perspective. The teachers initially teach academics and mold children’s cognitive skills. Moral values and ethics are supposed to be primarily instilled by their parents at home, whom considered as their teachers. Teachers just reinforce children’s values which they caught to their parents and to other members of their family.

In this article, Teachers or Parents, teachers and parents must not argue with each other because they have to work hand in hand to mold children to be productive, morally upright and God fearing citizens because children are still the hope of our country as our national hero said.
