ITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Mayor Dante Torres of the municipality of

and Mayor Oscar Tetangco, Jr. of Apalit town on Monday both asked netizens and the public to stop and avoid posting unverified information and alleged “fake news” about flooding on their social media accounts as these cause panic and undue fear to residents and even their relatives abroad.

Over the weekend, several posts in various social media platforms have circulated about the alleged situation of the two towns claimed to be submerged in deep water, or in danger of being flooded.

In Guagua town, Torres went all out on social media yesterday to denounce the circulating posts on Facebook that the town is in danger of being flooded due to water overflowing from the Pampanga Ri ver.

“There is no truth to the circulating reports that Guagua will be inundated due to water coming from Pampanga River,” Torres said.

The mayor said that water overflow from the Pampanga River mainly affects fourthdistrict towns like San Luis, Candaba, Apalit, Macabebe and Masant ol .

October 5, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. released Memorandum 1160, Series of 2020, instructing the Local Finance Committee, composed of the City Budget Office, Accounting Office, and City Treasurer’s Office, to immediately compute and prepare the year-end bonus of City Government empl oyees.

“In recognition of their hard work throughout the year, especially during the pandemic, we want our employees to have financial security, and to be able to still celebrate the coming holidays,” Lazatin said.

Contract of Service employees will also get a P3,000 cash incentive, amounting to a total of P8,415,000, which they will receive this December 10.

The grant of the year-end bonus is in accordance with Republic Act (RA) 66861, as amended by RA 8441, and under the Department of Budget Management Circular 2016-4.

Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA) President, Flordeliza Santos, expressed her gratitude to the city government for releasing the cash incentive early this year.

Meanwhile, in his Memorandum No. 1198, Series of 2020, issued last October 15, Mayor Lazatin has announced that qualified city government officials will also receive an additional bonus of P15,000 on December 22, on top of their year-end bonus and cash incentives.

The additional benefits include the collective negotiation agreement bonus worth P5,000, productivity enhancement incentive worth P5,000, and the service recognition incentive worth P5,000. (AC-CIO)
