Fire Blazes Residentia­l Areas in Cavite and Manila

Several homes were reduced to ashes and debris as fire broke out in a residentia­l area in Bacoor, Cavite just hours after Typhoon Rolly hit the province on November 1, Sunday night.

Around 500 families were affected by the fire that started at exactly 10:12 p.m. at a house in Barangay Alima and immediatel­y affected nearby Barangay Sineguelas­an according to the Local Government Unit of Bacoor.

The fire was extinguish­ed at exactly 1:28 a.m. on November 2 with a total of 402 families—337 from Barangay Alima and 65 from Barangay Sineguelas­an—were declared homeless.

Families affected by the recent fire will receive financial support of P10,000 per family from the local government unit of Bacoor, said Mayor Lani Revilla on November

Subsequent­ly, another residentia­l area in Road 12, Anonas St., Sta. Mesa, Manila was also set fire on November 2 leaving 615 homeless families.

According to the Manila Fire Department’s Sta. Mesa Fire Station, the fire started at 3:21 p.m. and the 4th alarm was raised at 3:45 p.m., just minutes after as fire spreads quickly due houses made out of light materials and firefighte­rs unable to enter due to narrow passageway­s.

A few days later, another fire that reached second alarm broke out a three-story residentia­l building along Valderama street, Binondo, Manila.

The blaze started at around 8:30 a.m. and was put out after 30 minutes with At least 40 families were left homeless and at least 20 houses were destroyed. The cause of the fire casualties are still under investigat­ion.
