HAPPY TEACHER

Good times and bad times had happened in my job as a ALS Mobile Teacher. I’ve gone over many trials and difficulties that challenges my teaching profession but it didn’t shake my decision to pursue my chosen career. I stay to what I know and believe that I am in my rightful pace in the universe. This is exactly where I belong and teaching is what I am supposed to do.

As I travel along the way on the beautiful mountain of Mt. Arayat, I’m asking myself why I’m doing this kind of sacrifices like going through rough and rocky road just to reach my learners. I look at my learners as I arrived and draft a smile on my face thinking about their hopes and reassurance that I will try my best to make them the best version of themselves. These learners are the reason why we stop minding of the interferences and challenges to go to our learning center just to cater the Aetas and decide to leave our personal concerned at home so that we may teach them all they need to know. As long as there are parents who trust the importance of education and eventually may passed onto their children, we are sure that the society will not only survive but will reach its full potential. I understand that not a lot of people get the idea when we tell them that as teachers, we are satisfied by the simplest fact when our learner learned and succeeded through us. I would, of course, be a hypocrite if I tell you now that I don’t complain about our salary or of the headaches caused by what I do for a living. But truly, when we enjoys what we are doing, it brings us joy and happiness. With the growing demand for us to improve ourselves in the midst of the changing education system, with hard-headed learners who impose their own ways of learning and obstruct their chances for a brighter future, we are haunted by the idea that we might never satisfy these expectations. We, teachers are also humans wherein we feel the pressure but choose to look beyond and take a pleasure in knowing that we are shaping the future of our learners in a best way we know.
