On January 30, 2020 the Department of Health reported the first case of COVID19 in the Philippines and to this day the number of cases is still getting higher and as of November 16 there are 410K reported cases of this virus. Many schools end their 2019-2020 academic year early as they planned for the sake of the health and welfare of the students and teachers due to COVID-19.

Last October 5, 2020 the Department of Education starts the school year 20202021 with new approach. For the reason that we are still in the pandemic due to COVID-19, face-to-face classes are not still allowed and advisable said by Inter Agency task Force for COVID-19. DepEd implemented distance learning for this academic year. Distance learning is a learning delivery mode where interaction takes place between the teacher and the students who are geographically remote from each other during instruction. This means lessons will be delivered outside the traditional face-to-face setup. There are 3 methods that will be used for distance learning.

For students who don't have access to gadgets and the web, printed modules will be conveyed to them or got by their parents/guardians at assigned places inside concurred plans. For students who have access on the web, the office's DepEd Commons and social media platforms will be utilized. DepEd Commons is online instruction stage created by the public authority office to help elective methods of learning and the last method is where the lesson will be delivered through radio and television. Discipline needed to make the most of the lesson. Students need to self-motivate to really complete the work, particularly in frameworks that don't expect them to be available in some particular time or spot. Educators likewise should be better coordinated and organized with possibilities should their students need extra clarification. In spite of the guarantees and clear focal points to Distance learning, there are issues that should be settled.

These issues incorporate the nature of guidance, concealed costs, abuse of innovation, and the perspectives of teachers, understudies, and executives. Distance learning is not a one-way it should be two-way where the students and teacher coordinating in a sense that the students must take their responsibility to do their task as well as the teachers. Teachers need to be understanding and be accessible to students whenever they need guide and concern about their lesson in modules. Parents also has a role in distance learning, they’re the one who will get the module in the school and look out and guide their child if they’re doing their activities. And the school administration, they need to implement health protocol inside their premises to secure the welfare of the teachers. They also need to ensure the proper distribution of modules, assisting faculties in the use and application of technologies in the teaching process and to overcome communication and instructional barriers as well as to combat attitudinal problems among instructors and learners. If these people will coordinate and help each other, the goal of the education will be achieved.
