Blended learning is relatively new to the Philippine education system. Over the last few years, this learning approach has become popular in other countries. However, in our country, it is only now that this kind of learning is making its introductions to our education system.

What is blended learning?

Blended learning is defined as an approach to education that combines online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online with traditional placebased classroom methods. It requires the physical presence of both teacher and student, with some elements of student control over time, place, path, or place.

With blended learning, online and teacher-led training is complementary and creates an integrated learning environment.

Blended learning offers some benefits to students including convenience and flexibility, student’s ability to control their learning pace and learn amidst remotely.

Researches also show that blended learning gives learners a more comprehensive understanding of their lessons.

Since we are experiencing a pandemic, blended learning also reduces face-toface contact, thus, keeping teachers and students safe at the comfort of their homes.

Blended learning aim is to combine the strengths of both traditional and online learning methods in order to give our students a more engaging learning experience.
