The whole project started with a nagging problem: How can we provide support to learners who are forced to study at home amidst this health crisis? We in Benigno S. Aquino National High School would want to optimize the distance learning education that we provide in the most effective and practical way, hence the realization of the OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE (OER) KIOSK.

With the intention of providing instructional materials (IMs) to be used by the students of B.S. Aquino National High School-Senior High School and respond to the Department of Education’s (DepEd)program “Digital Rise Philippine Education” and the Open Educational Resources (OER), a kiosk will be provided to introduce its capabilities, functionalities and advantages. This is a powerful tool to support offline e-learning, even in the absence of internet connectivity learners can access the modules, compendium and other learning resources which they need to make learning possible.

Under the “new normal,” face-to-face classes are totally prohibited because of the pandemic but education must not be sacrificed. Different learning modalities will be utilized and one of these is the blended learning. This is a combination of online and offline approaches which the OER can provide.

Our school Principal, JESUS C. MERCADO – Principal IV, supported the proposal and allocated budget to purchase additional desktops for every department in our school, 8 for JHS and 2 for SHS which by the way are all functionals now.
