Learner’s Motivation in the New Learning Modality

The demand for education is growing in the current scenario brought about by the pandemic. There is also demand for flexibility to incorporate lifelong learning into day-to-day life. Amidst all these, Our Department of Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones stated that “Learning must continue because education cannot wait.” Stress, depression and anxiety are some of the psychological impact disasters that may affect our children in this trying times. We are battling an invisible enemy.
The COVID- 19 pandemic has brought a massive challenges specifically in the education sector. But how can we help learners remain motivated with the new learning modalities? Indeed, we cannot rush our students to acquire learning at a snap of a finger, but there are many ways to provide opportunities . Activities must be structured for easy interaction. This will give teachers an opportunity to gauge what the learner has learned, and it demonstrates learner progress .
Teachers must always remember to take into account that there are different types of learners which need specific attention and solution in order to make them equal and happy in learning, and improve their competencies as well. But one problem that causes itself is that the large number of learners with plenty of individual differences with different learning styles.
