RISING FROM THE ASHES

Marcial S. Camaya Jr.

“Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep going. Tough situations build strong people in the end.” - Roy Bennett. This so much true in our present situation. Covid 19 had been our silent killer, something unseen by the naked eye.

Most soldiers would agree that at war, they can prepare the best weapons to fight the enemy. Today is so much different. Like a snake this pandemic is slowing leaving its venom vanishing thousands of lives and inflicting pain to almost everyone around the globe. We may never know what would happen to us in the next couple of days.

So, we must accept the reality that we need to prepare for our future. As a child, I remember my mother keep saying “pray, and pray that God would grant you to accept the unacceptable things happening to you and ask Him to give you the wisdom and strength to accept the next harder blows.” Our health must be among the top priority we must protect. Discipline would be the next step towards protecting ourselves and our family. Observing protocols and laws will not make any harm to us so we must obey them instead of arguing among those law makers who are just doing their jobs…that is to make is a safe.

Nothing is sure about this crisis, but we owe it to ourselves to make doors of opportunity open for us to survive another day. Together, let us fight the enemy by being there for each other through selflessly giving hidden from the lens of a camera and social media posts being celebrated like a feast day. Let us see the positive in this negative situation so the rainbow of hope may dwell within our hearts forever.
