What Is Physical Education In Today’s Schools?

Physical Education (PE) often heralded as the most popular class for any student to take as it promotes sports and physical well-being as oppose to sitting at a desk all day. No matter what time of day a child has PE, they can expect a nice energy and morale boost, even if they didn’t enjoy themselves.

PE is important for a multitude of reasons. For one, it gives student a chance to run around and use up some of their energy while also promoting good health. This is especially true after elementary school, when recess is no longer common.

In the typical PE class, students dress down in lockers and go into the gym (or out to the field) to receive the day’s instruction. This will begin with some warmup exercises. Usually students are focusing on a type of sport and may separate into teams to play a quick game. They will also do drills. Their unit test may consist of demonstrating their athletic ability. (Many PE teachers will give points for effort, so a child who is not athletically inclined will not necessarily get a bad grade as long as they try.)

Nowadays, there is a big challenge on how Physical Education can be implemented when there is no face to face class in the school. Some students have struggles in doing it alone, As a P.E. instructors; they should find ways or use different platforms in order to meet the needed requirements of the students which are comfortable to both the students and teachers. During this digital times, they are many ways on how to grade the performance of the students by simply make a video demonstrating the require exercise or performance of their students but the problem is that in group activities or team work may not be possible because of the new normal situation.
