Pampanga officials who are exceptionally outstanding
Personal sacrifices, the pressure of being the top executive in a pandemic. The corona virus is the lion and governance is the lamb in this situation. At the present time with the present conditions, leaders need strong devotion to duty. Steadfast and focused, they must. The situation demands a great deal of attention from leaders. Remarkably and should be given leadership awards are these executives who exhibited competence, aggressiveness and efficiency. First in the list of course is Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda who leads in many categories and followed by City Mayors Pogi Lazatin and Cris Garbo of Angeles and Mabalacat respectively.
Mexico Mayor Teddy Tumang, Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque, Bacolor Mayor Diman Datu, Porac Mayor Jing Capil, Florida Blanca Mayor Darwin Manalansan, Lubao Mayor Esmeralda Pineda, Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, Minalin Mayor Edgardo Flores and Magalang Mayor Romeo Pecson. in my assessment are exceptional and outstanding.
The choice is concurred by friends from media and civic groups. They deserve an applause from their constituents. A firm handshake will come from me when the virus is gone. In-charge of governance is a daily task.There’s no question but that the above lady and gentlemen rolled their sleeves and put in extra hours and energy from the time the corona virus crossed border and reach the shores of our country. Shall we say, may your tribe increase.

They are the new sheriffs in town’. More than ever they have to enforce the laws and ordinances coming from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF). No mass gatherings, social distancing, wearing of face shields and masks are the norms. The constituents who were infected were confined on newly constructed isolation wards as the government and private hospitals were full to capacity. Earlier in many occasions the low income groups were given ayudas periodically.

In Angeles City where I live and served for some years I take great pride on how Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi Lazatin Jr. is handling the situation. He is a consumate worker and resolute. Mayor Pogi Lazatin already spent more than one year in office and there are still several challenges he is confronted with aside from the pandemic.The city coffers has now more money as taxpayers make queues at the treasurer’s office.( Btw. Take advantage of the 20% discount on real property payments which is only good till now). There’s an expected increase in the revenues. However, despite the abundance, fiscal management is absolutely necessary, but not necessarily tightening the belt inorder no sacrifices for basic services, according to Lazatin.
Lazatin’s first few days wasn’t without the usual gestation period. But what is admirable of him is that he is a hands-on executive. He reports to work almost daily, unlike most whom I know reports for work on Mondays only. First to arrive in the office, and many times the last to leave. I believe it is not for show or just because he is new in his work and still excited. It is his nature. He is consistent. He is very punctual. In his six years being a member of city council I was witness to his dedication.
