CL Covid cases breach 23,000 mark

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Five suspected drug personalit­ies were arrested by agents of Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency Region III (PDEA-3) in a buy-bust operation in Mabalacat City recently.

PDEA -3 Director Christian Frivaldo identified the suspects as Raymond Dimarucut, Nikkifel Coquilla, Hanx Axelle Camarillo, Zarah Joy Soriano, and Rose Anne Manaois.

The operation also led to the discovery and dismantlin­g of a drug den inside Madapdap Resettleme­nt where the suspects were arrested, Frivaldo added. Ten sachets of suspected methamphet­amine hydrochlor­ide (shabu) weighing 21 grams with estimated street value of P142,000, assorted drug parapherna­lia, and the buy-bust money were recovered from the suspects.

Violations of the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be charged against the susp ect s.

City of San Fernando— Total number of corona virus cases in Central Luzon has now reached a total of 23, 4068 cases according to the Dec. 7 bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) in the region.

Of the said number of cases, some 87 percent or 20,483 have already recovered according to the DOH. However, the death rate in the region have slightly increased to 3.6 percent with 840 recorded deaths as of press time.

Active cases are still 8.9 percent of the total cases with 2, 085 active cases in the different provinces of the region. Some 36 percent or 765 cases of the active reported cases are currently asymptomat­ic. Mild cases have increased to 1, 254 cases while there are 55 severe cases and 11 critical cases as of press time.

For December 7 alone, 73 active cases have been recorded in Pampanga alone while 19 have been recorded in Angeles City.

Bulacan province remains the top province with the most number of cases almost nearing is 10, 000 mark with 9,575 cases. Pampanga is second with 4, 114 followed by Bataan with 3,306 cases.
