Amelita Soriano Endozo
Life skills education fills the gap between basic functioning and ability. It enhances the individual's capacity to fulfill the desires and demands of today's society. As a result, relevant life skills instruction aims to resolve the above problems in such a way as to accomplish the required realistic actions. Various exercises can be used to improve student life skills as follows:
Brainstorming: It helps students to produce ideas easily and spontaneously. Helps students use their creativity to think out of the box. Good discussion online begins so the class can produce suggestions creatively. It is extremely important to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of each idea or class of ideas according to certain factors.
Cooperative Group Work: Groups are useful when time is restricted since they optimize student feedback. Requires students to connect, to know each other better, which in a way strengthens team bonding and teamwork.
Games and Simulations: Encourages enjoyable, student engagement, and rich conversation as learners work hard to prove their points or gain points. They involve the combined use of expertise, level of competence, and allow students to test their ideas and abilities in a reasonably secure environment.
Situation Analysis and Case Studies: It provides an opportunity to evaluate, discuss, question, challenge, and safely test solutions; to offer opportunities for working together in communities, to exchange ideas, new experiences, and to provide insights and often inspire people to see it differently.
Discussions: Provides an ability to discuss a specific topic in-depth and in an innovative manner. It helps students to justify a position that might mean a lot to them. It allows you to learn higher thinking skills.
The relevant and proper application of life skills education is a need of an hour for modern culture. Imparting life skills instruction to students can be effective in meeting children's needs, helping to inspire, offering realistic, cognitive mental, social, and self-management skills for life change.
