The Nuts and Bolts of Computer Systems Servicing in the Real World

Educational institutions, Agencies, Manufacturing, Banking industries, and other types of industries are using computers as their tools in completing their operations. It cannot be denied the importance of computers in the different industries in the real world because from long computation, producing reports to automating work processes in manufacturing industries, computers are being utilized. Since computers are integral components in the completion of work processes in any industry, it is also a must that the maintenance of computers should also be considered in these industries to ensure continuous work operations.

Having the basic knowledge to perform the services needed to keep the computer and peripherals functional is a very significant skill in an organization that relies heavily on computers for most of its operations. Computer Systems Servicing composes of some of the basic skills that may be very useful in an organization: replacing defective components, installing the new component in a computer, installing an operating system, installing software systems used in offices (productivity tools), installing new devices and their device drivers, basic detection of network problems, and basic detection of computer and peripheral problems. These skills and competencies are offered and learned in TVL-ICT-Computer Systems Servicing(CSS) program in Senior High School.

Personnel who has acquired at least the basic skills in computer systems servicing is a valuable and an asset to the organization because he can contribute in saving maintenance expenditures of the company. Services like installation of the operating system, software productivity tools, anti-virus, and other applications usually cost on the average Five Hundred pesos (P500.00) for this service alone. Service like resetting of the printer will cost you on the average P500.00 also. Imagine if you are equipped with these basic computer systems servicing skills, the company will be able to save a lot. To equip yourself with the skills, you can take the TVL-ICT-CSS program in the Senior High School or you can take CSS from TESDA as a short-term course.
