Relative to DepEd Order No. 7, s, 2020 titled School Calendar of Activities for School Year 2020-2021, and in line with the standards set in the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), the teaching staff of Mexico Elementary School, with the support of their School Head, Dr. Teresita D. Punla, conducted the virtual School Based In-Service Trainings through Learning Action Cells (LACs) from December 14-18, 2020.
The topics on the virtual LAC sessions were lifted from the result of the teachers’ Individual Development Plan (IDP) and which were also based on the PPST strands. The school divided 6 groups from its teaching staff. The name of the following group are as follows: VIRTUAL (Visual Instructional Resources Thru Useful Alternative Learning), SPARK (Significant Practices to Alleviate and Reinforce Knowledge), ASSESS (Apply and Select Strategies to Evaluate Students’ Success in Distance Learning), PRONET (Professional Networking for Teachers), BEHAVE (Be Efficient, Honest And Vigorous Educators), and SPECIAL (Surviving Pandemic with Excellent and Initiative thru Adaptive Learning).
In spite of the pandemic and new normal education, the school had successfully enhanced the teachers’ pedagogical knowledge, skills and attitudes and areas of professional development which will surely contribute to the effective delivery of the lesson to the dear learners.
