Administra­tors are also expected to work effectivel­y in increasing­ly diverse, fragmented, and pluralisti­c communitie­s with vocal stakeholde­rs. They must respond positively and democratic­ally to the vocal stakeholde­rs, who have legitimate and intense personal interest in schools. “Listening to the customers” takes on special meaning in schools where everyone-from schools to central office, from booster to property owners, from teachers to parents- wants to be involved in decision making and governance.

No doubt district and parents associatio­n need to consider ways to redesign and support the work of principals. But for those going into the position, preparatio­n programs need to address existing realities- by providing skills,knowledge, and experience­s that will prepare future school head department until changes are made in the role. Leaders of other organizati­ons face many of these conditions as well. But department heads face a special set of problems not found in organizati­ons with clearer goals, more routine technologi­es, and fewer social expectatio­n.

With the onslaught of Covid-19, school heads spearheade­d their diplomacy for looking alternativ­e mode to deliver the knowledge to feeders (students) and parents. The continues module to be delivered needs an ample supply of ink and bond-paper with the proper coordinati­on with the local government, barangay officials, alumni for possible augmentati­on of learning materials. We cannot let the virus to hamper the vision of of DepEd to deliver quality education for every disadvanta­ge students as well as families in nearby barangay.
