THE Department of Education has been conferred an award anew, a testament that as a Department, it remains committed and dedicated to improving services to staff and clients.
Recently, the Civil Service Commission, through its National Capital Regional Office (CSC- NCR), awarded the DepEd Central Office with the Certificate of Recognition for obtaining Maturity Level 2 of the Enhanced Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) in two (2) Human Resource Systems, namely Recruitment, Selection, & Placement (RSP) and Learning and Development (L&D).
Set on a scale of four maturity levels, Maturity Level 2 indicates that the management of human resources (HR) is process-defined, wherein there is “a set of defined and documented standard operating procedures (SOPs) established,” “goal-oriented decision-making,” and an automated system in place.
PRIME-HRM evaluates four aspects of HR management, namely: Recruitment, Selection, and Placement; Learning and Development; Performance Management; and Rewards and Recognition.
The program aims to empower government agencies by developing their human resource management competencies, systems, and practices toward HR excellence.
According to the agency, the Department remains committed to continue itself to better serve its stakeholders. This recognition encourages the Department to strive even more in the pursuit of the highest standards of human resource management systems.
Dated December 17, 2020, the recognition was a result of the Department’s determination and unrelenting efforts to promote people excellence in the agency for efficient and effective public service delivery.
Meanwhile, DepEd CO is awaiting the results of CSC-NCR’s evaluation for its Performance Management (PM) and Rewards and Recognition (R&R) Systems. A significant number of DepEd regional and schools division offices have also received their PRIME-HRM recognition from their respective CSC field office counterparts.
