MEDIA AND ITS POWER

-

LORNA G. NOVENO

Media is a tool that gives information about what is currently happening. It helps everyone stay updated to each other. According to SSIM (2015), It is the most powerful entity on earth because it controls the mind of its users. It has the power to make the innocent guilty and make the guilty innocent. It also plays a major role on shaping the opinion of the public and strengthen the perspective of society. Media has the power to influence the world through different formats. Nowadays, there are different forms of media that may influence the viewers such as advertisements on television and internet, different news on social media and television programs. This may influence young viewers especially if it includes something that is inappropriate for them. (Alkuino, 2017). Media also has the power to manipulate the minds of the people. It can make them believe wrong information such as fake news It is also the main source of information and communication.

Most people depend on media since it keeps them updated by providing information that they need. It also serves as a modern messenger because it helps them to be connected easily with their loved ones even those who are far away (Carcuevas, 2017). Media is a powerful entity but it also depends on the hands of its user. With just one click, there could be many effects on the user, so it is their responsibility to be more cautious on what they do or about to do. (Calugcugan, 2017). Today, people live on a technologically advanced society with everything accessible to everyone. So people should be more mindful on what they post online. Media has a huge contribution in today's society. Though it is powerful, it still depends on the hands of its user. It makes everything easy and convenient but with just one click, it can destroy one's life. Media can be a great help in improving society so everyone should use it properly and accordingly.

Partnerships should be developed to provide all children with the best possible education. Collaborations are formed for several purposes, including strengthening public relations, finding increased support, and collaborating towards a specific cause or issue. Some relationships are formed within a structured framework and others are developed based on unwritten agreement. Most school districts have collaborations with home and neighborhood students as part of their vision statements or instructional priorities. The most challenging task, though, is for schools and municipalities to incorporate these alliances during the busy academic year.

There are many productive teacher-family relationships; however, many do not occur for a multitude of reasons. The most popular explanation is the varied cultural values of teachers, students, and families; inadequate time on busy everyday schedules; and job commitments. In comparison, most families do whatever they can every day to take care of their children.

Even so, if families and teachers understood the ultimate benefits that an educational relationship could bring on the academic growth of children, they would make it more of a priority. Educational relationships require time and effort to create, but once they are developed and maintained, the opportunities for both communities and people are infinite.

Getting school partners will provide a more fair playing field for both families and youth. Society gains as students, families, neighborhoods, educators, and teachers come together to educate children.

Schools should discuss various forms of relationships and how to address the needs of students. It is popular to have families and education providers as key partners. Schools may also form relationships with the greater education sector, including local businesses, advertising outlets, sports teams, associations, and regular people. Teachers and schools should collaborate closely with stakeholders to establish the ultimate objectives; the time is taken to create, execute and maintain a relationship; and which field or areas of the curriculum will benefit most from the partnership.
