Advancing Flexibility in Teaching Science in Distance Education

-

Flexibility is the most apparent characteristic in distance learning relative to classroom-based instruction. Effective equipment enables learners to view lessons without time limits or spatial restrictions. Flexibility is generally seen as the greatest advantage in distance learning. Teachers are the fundamental concept of distance learning because most of the time students are in various locations. Flexibility is not just about learning at preferred times and in preferred areas, but also about learning at one's speed. It allows some learners to build richer learning opportunities and encourages them to waste less time on information they already learned so that they can focus on what they don't know.

For teachers, flexibility requires planning teaching materials when and where it is most appropriate for them. Teachers will upgrade resources and allow learners to see the changes instantly. It is also easier for teachers to provide learners with relevant knowledge on the Internet depending on their needs. Also, through a well-designed learning management framework, teachers may assess the interests of learners and their existing level of competence and then delegate appropriate assignments to learners to accomplish the optimal learning outcomes.

Distance education is no more focused on learners than conventional face-to-face education since education is a transaction between and between teachers and students, no matter what type of education it is. However, distance learning enables a learningcentered learning environment more readily. The student-centered approach to learning suits best with distance learning settings. By its very existence, distance learning allows students to be interested in the learning process. Since students decide when, where and at what speed they will learn, they are and must be more fully involved in the learning process.

As a result, the quality and enjoyment of learning depend heavily on the student himself or herself. Not all students are adapted to this kind of education. Students understanding of computers, for example, has a considerable impact on their educational experience.
