Home schooling is the New Normal in going to School
Ma. Corazon C. Maninang
For the last three years classroom interaction has been trending among our school children which got alienated from the old normal of teacher and pupils in school landscape. But great thing about this current set up are the advantages we failed to acknowledge as possible agent of engaging our learners to more beneficial learning reforms.
1.Home schoolers perform better on their tests. A given advantage fully maximized by parents on their children early success. We cannot condemn the idea that most parents truly over shadowed their children and enjoying triumphs to any school programs.
2.Emotional freedom is at its peak. Children enjoys independence in expressing themselves since they are more confident to let their inner feelings and natural behaviour flourish since they got both their parents to pamper them or set some house rules. Nevertheless, it only focuses on one penultimate objective and that is to enhance learning independence.
3.No homework policy. Technically there are no assignments since learners are already in the comfort of their homes. What makes it more exciting is the engagement of whole household in accomplishing all their assignments, performance tasks. The family that studies together succeeds together!
4.Overflowing of confidence. Home children can have the home court adjustment since they got their homes they got their territory. Usual classroom set ups in the old normal wherein pupils are sometimes threatened or bullied by other children and claiming certain territories. Free exploration is more evident since barriers and insecurities where terminated at their homes.
5.My house! My rules! Since they can have at least two to three class sessions in a day the schedules are more flexible and accessible to their learning preference. No stress and self- engagement is more evident and focus to succeed best on their own call.
Learning can be more fun if all important learning indicators are all aligned geared towards pupils’ progress. There is no place like home!
