Helping raise healthy, well-rounded Filipino children

THE Department of Education has always been committed to helping learners achieve their dreams. With the help of its private partners, its mission to deliver quality education amidst the pandemic will now become a reality.

Nestlé Philippine­s, for its part, has initiated programs develop health and wellness within the Filipino family – which is a good support for learners, parents, and teachers

Now, the two parties have formalized an agreement that will reinforce the implementa­tion of the government’s Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) nationwide. The signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) which strengthen­s Nestlé Philippine­s’ support for the DepEd through the provision of online modules and educationa­l kits that will aid in the country’s shift to blended learning.

According to the DepEd, it always welcomes assistance that gives importance to the health of its stakeholde­rs and their well-being, and looks forward to more engagement­s like this.

The DepEd believes that it will take a nation to educate a child.

The DepEd has been initiating efforts to ensure that students across the country have access to quality education despite the pandemic.

Nestlé Philippine­s, a longstandi­ng partner of the Department of Education, is fully committed to support the BE-LCP, which lays the foundation and direction for the country’s education system at this critical time. Its partnershi­p with the DepEd provides the opportunit­y to stay true to its focus of helping raise and educate healthy and well-rounded Filipino children.

As part of the MOA, Nestlé will bring together experts under the Nestlé Wellness Campus with MILO and Bear Brand Fortified to co-create modules based on the DepEd’s Most Essential Learning Competenci­es (MELCs). These modules will be uploaded on DepEd Commons, making them accessible to all public schools and teachers in the country.

According to Nestlé, the MOA reflects how it has intensifie­d its partnershi­p with the DepEd by sponsoring over P120 million worth of online modules and physical education and nutrition kits for this school year.
