“It takes a dream to get started, desire to keep going and determination to finish” Eddie Harris Jr. Inspiring message which is very true in the teaching professions. In our daily conduct of our instructional functions among our clientele you cannot easily perform your functions and responsibilities diligently, passionately and efficiently if we fail to include and inject the burning flame of real affection, determination, passion – love. Once, such passion is innate in us all the hustles and bustles of delivering quality education will be less difficult.

First we need to develop the culture of excellence so as to create a culture of achievement and performance. At present the Department of Education is encouraging all teachers on the aims of Outcomes-Based Education wherein empowering all school stakeholders to produced quality outputs regardless who initiated and delivered it as long desired outcomes were accomplished.

Collaboration, shared governance and sense of ownership should be embrace by all stakeholders to realize desired outcomes form our students. Culture need to be harness and to be encouraged to clasp the long road towards achievement of these goals. Consider the five (5) factors to create a culture of excellence, a culture of success and achievement.

First, encouraged the freedom to express ideas, Nobody had the monopoly of ideas. Appreciation on the part of the school in welcoming feedbacks and either relevant or weird ideas among stakeholders is a healthy environment. The thing is an idea was offered and most weird ideas are more innovative and indigenous and most likely to succeed!

Second, let them grasps that there is no secret to success. If teachers perceive that there are mixtures of formulas to convince success they will not bother to look for it. Proclaim the gospel of hard work! One characteristics that is present to individuals. Let their diligence spread like wings to achieve more.

Third, the freedom to express concerns. Create an environment of care attention love, understanding and goodwill. Such atmosphere of positive vibration can be a breeding place for more brilliant ideas.

Fourth, develop the freedom to initiate critical thinking and higher order thinking skills, Such account can be vital on separating pessimistic and optimistic teachers. A discovery is said to be an accident meeting a prepared mind who is always inquisitive.

Fifth, allow them to participate in defining goals and objectives. Invite them to be part of the team, encourage co-ownership to all stakeholders, get them involve.
