A food security program

MANILA MAYOR Isko

-

MorenoDomagoso has outsmarted other Metro Manila mayors as he announced his ambitious food security program to cover the needs of his 700,000 constituents: a box filled with three kilos of rice, 16 pieces of canned goods and eight sachets of coffee per month in order to help curb hunger and mitigate the impact of

the pandemic on the economy.

How come Mayor Isko can do this very charitable act without a fuss?

Some P7 billion have reportedly been allocated for the implementation of this food security program.

Mayor Isko has other plans for his fellow Manilans like the city government's housing projects and is bent on improving the lives of his constituents in the days to come.

Meanwhile, would other Metro Manila heads of cities/ municipalities follow suit to improve the lives and well being of their respective constituents? Sana.

And now, the national government is planningon holding a food summit. Is this not a case of too little, too late when everything is blowing out of proportion like the runaway inflation, unemployment, povertyand ballooning national debt?

All the stakeholders in the food industry must be summoned to come to discuss how they can help the government in the problem of food availability. Reports have that incidents of hunger have increased and became frequent.

In fairness to the national government and the lawmakers, they have come up with legislations intended to curb poverty and incidents of hunger.

Would not the 3 Bayanihans end up as monumental failures and classic cases of wastage of public funds? I sincerely hope not because too much efforts and money have been put to work in crafting these laws.
