FRONTLINERS OF EDUCATION

Armand Vincent A. Sese

COVID-19 has challenged all sectors of the society including education. While we are very thankful to our medical front liners for their service that we cannot seem to repay, there are other front liners who are also working very hard in this time of pandemic. I would like teachers to be considered as “Front liners of Education”. Contrary to the belief that the work load seems to be “lighter” and “easier” for teachers because of the absence of face to face instruction, teachers have made adjustments and sacrifices to provide quality education for the learners.

“The fall of education is the fall of a nation” is a quotation that struck me in one conversation I had. In this adverse time when it is very difficult to reach out to people because of lockdown policies, teachers have found ways to not let the nation collapse by finding means to continue education. Teachers have managed to prepare weapons in a short span of time for a warfare nobody has expected. More so, it can be recognized that no pandemic can stop the fire of passion in teaching burning and that teachers will continue to shape future generations under any circumstance. Thus, as long as a single teacher lives, our nation will not fall. With all these said, I hope we can show our appreciation to our educators the next time we see one.

Mabuhay kayo Kapwa Guro!
