Gov’t efforts to promote COVID-related information
Maricel S. Tolentino
THERE is so much misinformation about the government’s vaccination program, that the Department of Education felt the need to step up and help spread relevant COVID-related information to education stakeholders.
It recently hosted a webinar and invited experts to discuss the government’s vaccination program and emerging developments about the virus. This, according to the DepEd, is part of the assistance in delivering accurate and relevant information related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic response.
Stakeholders were briefed on the vaccination program as well as the new COVID19 variants through a webinar graced by the Department of Health (DOH) and the UPManila College of Public Health.
The DepEd noted that the webinar helped in enlightening the role of the DepEd community, which includes the teachers, parents, and personnel in the vaccination program.
During this time, the DepEd believes that it is more critical to improve public awareness and preparedness when developments of vaccines are being made, as well as the government’s continuous effort for the vaccination program.
Everyone should share important information from the webinar to other people to make it easier to understand the government’s existing interventions, the DepEd said.
The DepEd has also reiterated its commitment to support government’s effort to promote information dissemination about the vaccine as well as about the new variants.
The said webinar was organized by the DepEd-Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS) as an aid to the government’s information drive for the COVID-19 vaccination program.
