2 Magalang seniors contract Covid-19

MAGALANG -- Two senior citizens, including an 82-year old woman and a 72 year old man, have contracted COVID 19.

This was learned from a report of the Municipal Health Office (MHO) on March 12, 2021.

The two elderly are among the five new corona virus patients the local government recorded as of Friday.

The 72-year old patient, Patient M214 is from Barangay San Jose. He is confined in a private hospital and his relatives were placed under home quarantine.

The 82-year old patient, Patient M216, on the other hand is residing at Barangay San Pablo. She is now confined at a private hospital.

The three other cases are also from barangays San Jose and San Pablo, according to the MHO.

These bring the total number of COVID 19 cases in the town to 218 as of March 12, 2021.

Mayor Romy Pecson asked the residents to observe health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID 19 in this agricultur­al municipali t y.

Of the 218 total COVID 19 patients, the mayor said that 180 patients had recovered and 15 died from the virus.

ANGELES CITY --- Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr. has reminded city residents to continue observing health protocols following the increase in the number of COVID 19 cases in some parts of the country.

The mayor called on disobedien­t people living in the city to follow the government's minimum health standards to prevent the spread of the virus.

Lazatin stressed that the corona virus pandemic is not yet over and the national government is now recording an average of 3,000 new COVID 19 cases per day.

"Sa kabila ng pagpapatup­ad ng siyudad sa mga itinakdang regulasyon ng pamahalaan laban sa COVID 19, marami pa rin po ang inuuna ang katigasan ng ulo. Hindi pa po tapos ang pandemya, may mga sinusunod pa rin po tayong patakaran," the local chief executive said.

He urged his constituen­ts to continue wearing face covers, social distancing and avoiding mass gatherings.

"Dapat pa rin po tayong magsuot ng face mask at face shields sa tuwing lumalabas ng bahay. Hindi pa rin po pwede ang mass gatherings. Panatiliin pa rin natin ang pagsunod sa social distancing," Lazatin said.

"Kahit po paulit ulit po ang panawagan, hindi pa rin po ako magsasawa sa pagpapaala­la. Disiplina at malasakit po sa kapwa ang ating pairalin upang masugpo na aang virus na ito," he added.

The City Health Office recorded 26 new corona virus cases on March 12, 2021.

These bring the total number of COVID 19 patients to 2,315.

Lazatin said some 1,963 patients had recovered and 128 died from the virus.
