“All system issues have been resolved and measures were put in place to prevent the same issue from happening again,” it added.

But even without the backlogs, the 11,601 new Covid-19 cases still topped the previous record high of 10,016, which was reported last March 29.

Among the confirmed cases, 17 more patients have succumbed to the disease.

This brought the country’s total number of Covid-19 fatalities to 13,320 as of Friday, April 2, with a case fatality rate of 1.73 percent.

As to recoveries, the DOH said there are now a total of 604,368 Covid-19 recoveries, with 434 new survivors reported Friday.

The DOH said this means that 78.3 percent of the patients have been able to recover.

The active cases stood at 153,809 and this accounts for 19.9 percent of the confirmed infections in the country.

Of the active cases, 96.3 percent are considered mild, 2.4 percent are asymptomatic, 0.5 percent are in severe condition, 0.5 percent are critical, and 0.32 percent are moderate cases. (HDT/ LMY/ SunStar Philippines)
