Families in Macabebe town get Covid-19

MACABEBE - The coronaviru­s disease (Covid-19) continue to spread among families in this fourth district town.

Based on the bulletins issued by the local government, at least 10 individual­s who are members of three different families are currently infected by the dreaded virus.

The first family includes the 58-year-old mother (MC#138) and her two daughters (MC#153 and MC#154) aged 23 and 24 years old, respective­ly, all from Barangay Sto. Rosario her e.

The mother, whose only travel history was at the public market, tested positive for the virus on March 24 while her children contracted the disease on March 28 after being exposed to their mother.

Meanwhile, another family, including toddlers from Barangay San Vicente here were infected by the Covid-19.

The 33-year-old patriach (MC#145) was the first to test positive on March 27, while his 34-year -ol d wife (MC# 151) and three and four years old sons (MC#156 and MC#157) contracted the disease on March 21.

The father had no known travel history but his wife, who is a private school teacher, was exposed to her co-teacher, MC# 140.

Aside from MC#151, MC#140 also infected two of his 52-year-old mother and 50-year-old father, all from Barangay San Roque here.

He also infected another co-teacher, a 26year-old male from Barangay Sta. Rita here.

As of Friday, the local government have reported a total of 166 confirmed Covid-19 cases in town. From the said number, 33 are active, 116 have recovered and 17 died.

CLARK FREEPORT – As the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) has been extended in the National Capital Region (NCR)+ for another week, a group of small fishermen are asking the government support in a form of economic aid and livelihood subsidy.

The group said this support to small-scale fisherfolk­s will ensure constant fishing production and food security in the areas under quarantine.

In a statement, the Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalaka­ya ng Pilipinas (PAMALAKAYA) said that the direct cash assistance for every fishing families in ECQ-areas would contribute to the production cost of a small fisherfolk, of which 80% goes to the fuel consumptio­n al one.
