Role of administration in school management

-

It is beyond argument that an administrative section, unit or even just a team for that matter, is an indispensable component of school governance and management, one that should operate seamlessly and efficiently to achieve an educational institution's goals and objectives. Without effective administration, an organization like a school would not run professionally and smoot hl y.

In a study, Pankaj Mishra (July 14, 2014) stated that administration is the backbone of an organization. An effective administrator and his assistants are assets to an institution.

Thus, Mishra pointed out effective administration should enhance the office staff’s ability to manage and organize the office effectively and professionally; implements an appropriate office management strategy and procedures; and aware and understands budgetting, control and management.

The main responsibility of administration is to ensure the efficient performance of all sections and units in the school. Mishra stresses that administration should provide motivation to teachers and non-teaching personnel and make them realize the goals of the school or learning institution.

Administration is one of the key elements associated with a high level of workplace productivity and efficiency. With a good administrative team, utmost efficiency in school operations can be achieved.
