The Covid-19 pandemic has turned our lives upside down. Numerous businesses and establishments had to shut down temporarily or even permanently. Even the education sector was badly affected by the pandemic.

In order to keep both teachers and students safe, schools were shut down and classes were put on hold.

But, as months went by, the Philippine government figured out a way to continue the studies of Filipino students. Thus, distance learning was introduced in the country.

This new style of learning is relatively new to Filipino teachers. So, it was inevitable for them to encounter challenges brought by the new system.

For instance, many teachers do not have the technical needs for distance learning including internet connectivity and laptops or smartphone devices.

But, Filipino teachers were unfazed by these hurdles.

As we have witnessed in the past year, amid the pandemic, teachers gave their best in providing the best learning experience to their students.

Despite the hurdles, teachers’passion for teaching kept them performing their duties including preparing lessons, adapting to the new medium of teaching, adjusting their time, and continuously supporting their students despite the distance.

The new normal style of learning is challenging, but Filipino teachers are not and will never give-up in helping their students succeed in life.
