When Normal Became New Normal

New Normal, Look how amazing really this so called COVID-19 virus. It changes every living things way of life with so much easiness. Imagine a simple minute flu-like virus did these changes to us all.

The same is true in the educational process especially here in the Philippines. Educators, parents, guardians and students alike are all unhappy to embrace the New Normal in education. Webinar became a household term for teachers to make them equip to teach. Online classes are now a part and parcel for students big or small so to speak. Face to Face learning is “Out” and Modular learning is “In” since the class opening last October.

Modules here and there are sent to the students to answer in the comfort of their homes.

The comfort part is underrated. Why? The first three weeks of modular learning we can say went a little ok not until the succeeding weeks followed. Parents and students united in complain on how modules devour their quality time together. It’s true the continuity of education must go on but undeniably, the department lack preparations. The once one modular per week suddenly became three-in-one coffee combo in a snap. Higher ops much look on this before it can create rejection to a very idealistic point of view or review all plants to discover where these combo of modules did in a week came from. Students can only grasp much but not too many ideas in one week.

At the end of the day, quality education will not be as good even though quantity replaces the former. New Normal?
