Wear the Miraculous Medal amid the Covid 19 scourge

-

The Miraculous Medal was named miraculous neither by the Blessed Mother who asked that it be made nor by St. Catherine Laboure to whom our Mother entrusted the task of promoting the sacramental in her apparition in Paris, France in 1830. Rather, it was a cholera epidemic in France at that time.

As the first medals were being done in 1832 by goldsmith Adrien

Vachette, who followed the instructions of St.

Catherine, Paris was suffering from a cholera epidemic that had already killed some 20,000 people. In June that year, the Daughters of Charity started to distribute the first 2,000 medals, especially to infected people in the hospitals.

Those wearing the medal were healed and the epidemic waned. The people of Paris started to call the medal "Médaille Miraculeuse", Miraculous Medal.

Take note, however, that such medals are not "anting anting." They are Church-approved tools through which we manifest our trust in the love of God and in the intercession of God's saints.

Now, dear reader, you probably know where I am leading to. In the midst of Covid 19, we can manifest our trust in the Blessed Mother- Help of the Sick and Refuge of Sinners- to protect us. Yes, I ask you, preferably in the state of grace, to wear a blessed Miraculous Medal and distribute more to others.

I forgot who wrote it, but just a few days ago online, I read someone urging people to also put Miraculous Medals on their doors and windows, with the front (with the image of the Blessed Mother) facing outdoors.

Apart from the short prayer related to the medal (O Mary, conceived without original sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee), I am sharing the following prayers to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal for special needs:

"Immaculate, Holy Virgin Mary, beloved daughter of the Father, Mother of the Son and Bride of the Holy Spirit! Through the revelation of the Miraculous Medal, you have shown yourself as the Mediatrix of all graces. We thank God from our hearts that He has given you to us as Mother, intercessor and helper in all our needs. With confidence, I take refuge in you in all my needs of body and soul, especially in this special request ...

"You gave me your Miraculous Medal in which you stretch your motherly arms towards me. Your mother’s hands offer me all the graces for time and eternity that I need, to get to you and your Divine Son in the heavenly kingdom. I trustingly lift up my hands to you to receive all these graces. Also, I thank you for all the graces you have already given me. Help me to keep all the graces faithfully and always eagerly cooperate with them. Amen." (End of prayer.)

And so to go on with recent prophetic messages from Heaven...but first with the following quote from the Blessed Mother on July 30, 2018 on why dire messages are now being told to us in these times. She said: "May you not be frightened by what Heaven has declared to you so that you may prepare. But may that which you know be what leads you to increase your faith, the desire to save the soul and the desire to cooperate in the salvation of souls."

Also shown in the video were alleged uniformed police officers of Station 5, who later revealed that the arrest was a prank in observance of April Fool's Day. The video has gained over 1 million views; 17,000 reactions; and 6,100 comments after its posting on April 2.

Charges for violation of health protocols such as non-wearing of face masks and face shield and non-observance of social distancing are set to be filed against them, said De Leon.

"We are serious and stern in the implementation of IATF guidelines and we even risk our lives to contain the widespread of the virus and their acts are unacceptable," he sai d.

Earlier, Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin, Jr., ordered the relief of all personnel from the City Police Office Station 5 in relation to the prank video media.

In his Memorandum No.621 Series of 2021, Lazatin ordered Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) City Director Police Colonel Rommel Batangan to relieve all personnel from PNP Station 5 effective immediately and to conduct an investigation on all PNP personnel involved in the alleged "pranking incident" and file administration charges, and violation of quarantine protocols including not wearing of face-masks; nonobservance of social distancing protocols; and violation of the prohibition of mass gather ings.

“These actions are disadvantageous to the best interest of the government as it not only makes use of government property for a senseless ‘prank’but also undermines the efforts of the entire Local Government Unit to implement public health protocols," Lazatin said in his memorandum.

"This is not the kind of conduct that the public expects from their police officers,” it added.

Lazatin also released Memorandum No.622 Series of 2021, still addressed to Batangan to investigate all individuals involved in carrying out the said prank including civilians.

In a related development, Lazatin also ordered Business Permit and Licensing Division (BPLD) head Evangeline Malonzo to close down SY Music Entertainment and suspend their permit to operate due to the following violations: not wearing of face masks; non-observance of social distancing protocols; and violation of the prohibition on mass gatherings, through his released Memorandum No. 623.

“Ngayong panahon ng pandemya, mas dapat nating unahin ang disiplina at malasakit sa kapwa sa pamamagitan ng pagsunod sa mga ipinapatupad na regulasyon ng pamahalaan. Hindi ito ang panahon para pairalin ang kayabangan, o katigasan ng ulo,” Lazatin said. (with reports from Charlene Cayabyab)
