Every Student Deserves a Teacher

Each day, the COVID-19 pandemic makes life tougher and challenging for people around the world. This pandemic has truly brought a fundamental impact on the daily lives of the people. In fact, many people consider this crisis as one of the most difficult point of their life. COVID-19 also affects several sectors either in private or public, one of the these is the education system itself and all its stakeholders.

Due to the threatening environment brought by the pandemic, education system took numerous alterations and adjustments to make learning continuous even at the comfort of the home of the students.

There are various learning modalities that teacher may use in accommodating the academic needs of the students. These include printed modules, distance learning, blended learning and many more. However, the main concern here is how can educators take each student’s needs and help all students build up to their full potential? Likewise, students have different needs. Some children can work individually and understand lessons immediately.

Whereas others need more assistance from the teacher and more time to complete a task. Therefore, the different existing nature of the students intensifies the concerns about having continuity of learning during crisis. If these learning modalities are not enough to cater all the academic and social needs of the students, how may quality learning be achieved?

These concerns will remain endless if we do not decide to accept the situation and learn from it. Indeed, the role of teachers in students’academic progress becomes more crucial. But it only signifies that no one can take place the role of the teachers in the development of the students personally and academically. Also, quality education is always the number one priority of any educational institution.

Likewise, quality education implies the capability in catering all the necessary competencies that should develop by the students no matter how diverse they are from one another. All students have the right to exercise their privilege to have a competent, efficient, and meaningful learning that can be helpful throughout their life.

Likewise, most people demand for an excellent education because they believe in the formidable influence of education in one's life. This means that every student deserves a teacher especially in this trying time where all are struggling because of the immediate and different modifications made in education system.

Every student deserves a teacher who aims to provide a better and more equitable educational environment for everyone even in times of crisis. Above all, every student deserves a teacher who is always willing to embrace the endless changing demands of education and make it as a motivation in teaching the students wholeheartedly.

As educator, let us not forget our vision and mission which is to help students not only to realize but also to pursue their aspirations in life. Our current situation in education is tough, and it will be tougher if we do not do this hand in hand.

In this trying times, let us not blame anyone, rather let us be a help to make life lighter.
