In-Service Trainings: A Must for Teachers on Sembreak

LADY LYN L. ARROYO

-

It is a common knowledge that teachers from public schools both in elementary and high school allot their semestral break for in-service trainings in accordance with DEPED Order No.35 s.2016.

As what Rabindranath Tagore quote, “A teacher can never truly teach unless he is still learning himself. A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own f l ame”

Life is a continuous process of learning. The education paradigm is constantly changing and evolving. It is an imperative for an educator to be updated with the current trends in teaching. Attending seminars and trainings is one way of acquiring new understanding and instructional skills that would be of help in the teaching and learning process.

In- service training during semestral break is a mandate from the Department of Education. Through in-service trainings, teachers are provided with ample opportunities to learn new concepts, methods and strategies that would increase the level of their students’ performance. So, all teachers are required to attend.

Therefore, educators must adhere with the policy on the need of in-service trainings during semestral break. It is designed on days without students so they must be able to focus thoroughly and grasp all the necessary insights very effective for teaching. Undoubtedly, teachers are living with the tagline, “Para sa bata at para sa bayan”.
