The Green Leaf

Times have changed. What we were used to do before is no longer applicable in the context right now. Therefore, there is a need for leaders who are adaptable. We need those who could cope up with changes. Just how animals adapt to their environment when seasons change, we humans should also learn how to adjust to different situations because there is nothing permanent in this world.

Open-mindedness

Our understanding of things must be ten-fold, especially during these times. Leaders of today must have a wider perception about things. The emergence of new ideas and concepts on how to address educational issues today could not be stopped. Hence, leaders must be open to new practices and strategies in doing things. We could not remain stagnant forever. We must also upgrade ourselves from time to time.

Creativity

Have you ever tried doing things differently? Have you ever crossed the borders just to deliver innovative quality education among the youth? Have you ever chose the road less travelled by to address a particular school problem? Well, if you have done any of those things, then you sure are creative. Leaders must possess this attribute because sometimes, things do not turn out the way we want them to be. To get the desired results, we must try new and creative ways to find solutions to these problems. Responsiveness

Leaders must immediately respond to changes and to challenges. For example, if you work from home and the school principal asked you to be in school to accomplish something, you must be responsive, especially if it’s for the benefit of the students and the school. Along with this, you must also be optimistic while responding to the changes and challenges.

Compassion

At the end of the day, our heart towards the learners, our colleagues, the school, and our vocation itself wins. Nothing really beats a compassionate heart. We are all new to this game. We all have uncertainties and doubts about things. This holds true not only to teachers and school administrators but also to parents and learners. We must learn how to understand one another so that we could surpass this challenge.

As I look back on the previous pages of this year, billion and still increasing population of humankind, who is blessed of being safe throughout the year.

Previously when I was still in the quarantine days, I was so bored and I can’t think anymore of anything that I can still do to satisfy my days until the quarantine was lifted up.

But right now, I feel like it was just yesterday when I still kept thinking of what are the other things that I still haven’t done that I might do to satisfy myself. I realized then that if you’re bored, time slows out and when you’re happy, time becomes faster.

I realized that time really is gold as other people keep saying like from even up to this d ay.

Time flies so fast like you can’t even believe,

If I were to be asked the question “what are the things that I learned ” Honestly speaking, there are a lot of things that I learned but the most important lesson that I learned throughout the year is to always know and remember that anything in this world will not exist forever.

What I mean is that if you feel hopeless in something that really burdens you so much, always remember that no matter how hard it is, it won’t last forever. And besides, we have a God that is responsible for anything that works nowadays.

There is nothing God cannot do and I am hundred percent sure of that. Everything that is happening right now happens for a reason because I personally believe that God is too wise to be mistaken.

Another life, another timeline, a new hope and a new start. In short, a new “Green Leaf” is about to grow from the ground.
