TEACHER AS CONSULTANT

Today’s new normal classroom are found at home. Students are learning from home with their self – learning modules. In this scenario, teacher plays as consultant in terms of supervising and monitoring the progress of each student. It is the responsibility of the teacher to acquire some feedbacks from the learning outputs of students. These feedback can help teachers improve their teaching approaches and strategies towards successful learning.
Utilizing the technology makes the learning accessible for both teachers and students. Facebook messenger are utilized in sending messages from learners to teachers and vice versa. It is easier to communicate to the students if most of them have internet connectivity. However, there are still other learning options even the students don’t have Internet Access. Parents are retrieving their children’s modules from school. After receiving the modules, students are given sufficient time in answering their learning activity sheets. If it happens that some activities are difficult for students to understand, he or she may reach out their teachers for some queries. With this the teacher will receive feedbacks from their students.
Teachers may utilize feedback form to monitor the learning progress of the students. As consultant, teachers also give advises to parents and students on how to accomplish their self – paced learning materials. Communication is necessary for this matter. Reaching out parents is also a mandate for teachers in order to track the concerns and other issues with regards of the students’ modules. A digital or offline conversation between the teacher and student is also a way of determining the success of students’learning outputs.
As consultant, teachers provide learning support to students within the given class schedules. Education is accessible despite the pandemic. It is the main goal of every teacher to allow students experience the importance of education even without face to face classroom teaching. Effective and efficient communication using varied modes of learning platforms is really important to continue achieving the quality education amidst COVID – 19 pandemic.
