The world stops when Covid-19 gradually affecting even the schooling of our children. Ganas is a Spanish word loosely translates as t”he urge”- the urge to succeed, to achieve , to grow.
Pandemic given a time to parents to be a teacher and teachers became a TV, radio broadcaster as alternative delivery mode for teachers.
Teachers need to improvised his teaching strategist using a new platform of teaching using thee Google drive.
Filipino learners the need compulsive need to belong. The intense feeling of community maybe explained during the time of Fiesta where everybody becomes loca during May3 (I hope next year I can see the Santacruzan). We can see the force of togetherness and the power of suggestions during normal schooling but how about virtual schooling.
How can they can make if they cannot even mastered the basic operations in mathematics, is it sorrowful and merciful for them in the time of pandemic.
School conducted Project AN so that no students will be left behind in mastering the basic math operations. Common fraction, decimal fraction, using percent, computing of Discount and Interest. DepEd focused today on disadvantaged students and the provisions of Alternative Delivery Mode was the answer for destitute students.
So little is known about the real needs, interests and abilities of the disadvantaged that the formulation and even classification of objectues for a unique curriculum is in a primordial stage of development.
This lack of knowledge and understanding has been reflected in an almost complete lack of curricula developed with this population in mind. It is no accident that although many school sytems recognized the problem area , little iss being done on it
