Parents play a critical role in the learning process, especially in the modular distance learning modality, since they are the ones who encourage and direct their children through their self-guided modular lessons in this time of the pandemic. While learning begins at home with their parents, parents today face various challenges, especially in maintaining learners' attention while they complete self-guided lessons at home. These helpful tips can assist in preventing power struggles between parents and students;

.Starting Up Rules – Before starting the module lesson each day, the learner must be reminded of the learning rules and standards to follow and be guided. 2.Praise Me Up! – Occasionally, praise the learner, mainly if the learner completes the lesson. It is the most effective form of positive reinforcement a parent can provide. When the child is behaving positively, praise them and instill in them why it is beneficial to them and others.

.Loving Treats – Learners are motivated to achieve and conform to appropriate behaviors when rewarded and given guided privileges.

.Keep Me! – Parents must remove any object or gadget in the learning area to avoid distractions. Time management and scheduling of the time they can use these gadgets will help them develop their self-discipline.

.Hear Me Please – Parents should pay attention to their children's thoughts and emotions to determine whether or not they are ready and able to learn. Allow your child to express their feelings and the reasons behind their feelings. Misbehavior may be a cry for support and a sign that they're having trouble dealing with their young emotions.

.Go for Yes! – Parents should foster a positive environment. They should give the learner the freedom they seek within the learner's favor but well-defined limits. Giving positive approaches and mindset to what they do will create ripples of encouragement to leap for more positivity in what they do.

.Be consistent! –Parents should be consistent in their discipline. A child needs to know what is and isn't acceptable. Children need boundaries and learning that when they push out of it will have consequences in return. Make clear to the child that you love them even if you don't like how they behave. They need to know that they are supported in both their successes and disappointments.

.Jumble Up!-Diversion is a great tool to use with younger children. Children have a limited attention span, which you should take advantage of. Instead of giving in, find something new to do or chat about with your child that piques his or her interest.

.MultipleChoice Childrenareempoweredbecausetheyhaveasayinwhattheydo.Givethemanop tion that will benefit you both. Adults serve as role models for children. They see you making healthy life decisions, and explaining why you make them can be a valuable learning tool for them to control their habits.
