There is no guarantee when the Covid-19 pandemic will end, or when we can go back to our normal way of life.

The pandemic has hardly hit many industries including the education sector in the country. Regular classes in all schools have been cut short in 2020 when the new coronavirus threatened the health and safety of the Filipino population.

Since public healthcare is the top priority of the local and national governments, students were sent and kept home for their safety.

Later, the Department of Education introduced virtual learning.

Virtual learning is primarily conducted online. It is a learning experience by using computers and the internet. The lessons are executed online where the teachers and students are physically distant, which is the best thing to do since there is an existing threat to public health nowadays.

Aside from the physical distance, which is part of the “new normal” now, virtual learning provides unlimited educational resources, flexibility, and individualized learning.

Since most students have access to the internet, their resources for their lessons are endless. Moreover, since lessons are done online, time schedules can be flexible depending on the availability of the students and teachers.

Virtual learning also allow students to learn at their own pace. As they study at home, students discover learning and studying styles that best work for them.

Given the uncertainty of the pandemic, students would have to stay at home, thus, virtual learning is the best option for now.
