DA hosts peace, development conference for farmers, fisherfolk
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---The Department of Agriculture conducted a Regional Conference for Peace and Development (RCPD) for the farmers and fisherfolks sector of Central Luzon recently at the Central Luzon Integrated Agriculture Research Center for Lowland Development at Paraiso, Tarlac.
The conference was held in accordance with Executive Order no. 70 which utilizes a whole-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace within the country.
The purpose of the conference was to create a peace and development agenda aimed at addressing the social concerns of the farming/fisherfolk sector and to provide a platform for addressing legitimate sectoral issues and concerns of the sector along with other sectors of society.
Participants of the conference were representatives from the Agriculture and Fishery Council headed by the RAFC Chairman Engr. Francisco Hernandez, facilitated by DA RFO 3’s End Local Communist Armed Conflict Program Focal Person Arleen Torres and OIC-Chief of the Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Division Noli Sambo.
