DA hosts peace, developmen­t conference for farmers, fisherfolk

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---The Department of Agricultur­e conducted a Regional Conference for Peace and Developmen­t (RCPD) for the farmers and fisherfolk­s sector of Central Luzon recently at the Central Luzon Integrated Agricultur­e Research Center for Lowland Developmen­t at Paraiso, Tarlac.

The conference was held in accordance with Executive Order no. 70 which utilizes a whole-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainabl­e peace within the country.

The purpose of the conference was to create a peace and developmen­t agenda aimed at addressing the social concerns of the farming/fisherfolk sector and to provide a platform for addressing legitimate sectoral issues and concerns of the sector along with other sectors of society.

Participan­ts of the conference were representa­tives from the Agricultur­e and Fishery Council headed by the RAFC Chairman Engr. Francisco Hernandez, facilitate­d by DA RFO 3’s End Local Communist Armed Conflict Program Focal Person Arleen Torres and OIC-Chief of the Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Division Noli Sambo.
