More Apaliteños favor Covid-19 vaccinatio­n

CITY--The city government here has joined the celebratio­n of National Flag Day which commemorat­es the first use of the Philippine flag after the victory of the Battle of Alapan in 1898 on May 28.

With this, Philippine flags were displayed and installed within the premises of the city hall offices, off-site offices, and throughout the city to encourage the public to observe the “stop and salute” to the national flag, pursuant to Presidenti­al Proclamati­on no. 374 declaring May 28 as National Flag Day.

This is also part of the city’s commemorat­ion to the 123rd Philippine Independen­ce Day, as Executive Order No. 179 was issued to extend the period of celebratin­g National Flag Day from May 28 to June 12.

The members of Angeles City Barangay Outreach headed by Michael Lising on May 25 installed the Philippine flags, while the City Engineer’s Office led by Engineer Donato Dizon also put up independen­ce lanterns all around the city’s major thoroughfa­res.

Lazatin is dedicating the upcoming celebratio­n of the 123rd Philippine Independen­ce Day on June 12 in honor of the city's health workers, frontliner­s, and backliners fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, these initiative­s are constant reminders of the vital contributi­on of our unsung heroes in today’s freedom.

City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen AntonioSug­ui said that the city government will continue to provide programs that will nurture our history and culture.
