In an interview with the Secretary on the campus radio station, he mentioned the culminating activity for Farmers and Fisherfolk Month held on the same day giving recognition to farmers and fishermen.

"We really give due recognition to the importance of our farmers and fishermen because they are the heroes in the countryside. Especially since this pandemic, they are still farming, fishing and the country's food is enough", Dar said.

Following this, the secretary also acknowledged the efforts of universities and agricultural colleges in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) in using modern technology to increase the level of production of various commodity industries.

“The role of PSAU and various universities and colleges all over the country is important. We ensure that continuous communication and research is a responsibility of the university which is also assisted by the Department of Agriculture,” Dar said.

The DA also provided pure goat breeds to the university to be used in local breeding.

Meanwhile, the DAfunded ICT-R&D aims to translate all science-based information for farmers and facilitate information technology transfer to the communities covered in Central Luzon. The project costs P5,000,000 which include the cost of construction and equipment required for the operati on.

Dar also led the site inspection for the Meat Processing Plant and Cold Storage facility being built in the university and Central Luzon Integrated Agricultural Research Center-Upland Development Zone Multi-Purpose Research and Development Center in Barangay Sto. Nino , also in Magalang tow n.
