Philippine Literature is diverse. The diversity and uniqueness evolved with our history. The richness of our root that made us peculiar from the rest. Philippine Literature deals with ideas, thoughts and emotions of our humanity. We study our roots to appreciate our literary heritage. As Filipinos, we must unite and be responsible to teach the young minds the importance of Philippine Literature for it reflects our society its good values that anyone can emulate.

Amidst this global pandemic, though it is a wreaking havoc with immediate challenges, far reaching consequence and life - and - death circumstances, we can say that it is time to be reminded of our culture that Filipinos are able and capable to withstand uncertainties. Filipinos are known for being resilient in any undertakings. Our love for our family, our care for our loved ones and our concern for others make us different and unique.

For more than a year now, as we still battle with an invisible enemy and with the increasing Covid 19 cases, it is “HIGH TIME” to guard our gates and not only be reminded to the richness of our culture, roots, and language and heritage because these things make us who we are as Filipinos. Let us take a deeper look to the culture we need a… Kingdom Culture wherein the standard is not based on the world. Yes, time and history tested that we can face any goliath however, in this crucial and trying times, we must and we need to combine our roots to the needed culture that cannot be shaken not under the leadership of a worldly king, worldly pattern and norms, popular ideas but under the leadership of a real and eternal King-Jesus. Wesley Duewel says “Tough times never last but though people do”. Filipinos can because storms in life are God’s way of refining our faith. Time is crucial and allow the Kingdom culture to influence us amidst this pandemic. All our limitations shall come to pass. God will be our refuge, shield and fortress. We are confident that we can overcome struggle as we have Jesus our King whose power is greater than Covid 19. His love and grace will sustain us. The Lord told Joshua before they crossed the Promised Land,” have I not commanded you, be strong and courageous and don’t be afraid”

Yes, it is but normal to feel and experience fears and doubts but God is commanding and ordering us to step out in faith, for the God who made a way to Joshua is the same God who will make a way for us in this Covid time ‘coz the battle is the Lord, the battle belongs to our Commander-in-Chief.
