The senators come into the fray

-

THE HONORABLE senators of the Republic have taken action on the rollout or distribution of vaccines.

It may have come to their knowledge that there exists an inequality in the distribution of the vaccine and that there are LGUs which are left, wittingly or unwittingly.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III expressed apprehension over the authority of the IATF and the DOH by saying: It is the people

on the ground such as mayors who can appreciate the situation better. So it is important that they be given flexibility and more autonomy in the implementation of the vaccine program.

He added that consultants to the IATF are too theoretical when they do not know what is happening on the ground.

Senator Lacson chimed in by saying that giving implementers more flexibility will be crucial to the success of the government's efforts to accelerate its COVID 19 vaccination dr i ve.

So, there goes the Senate's timely intervention on the current vaccine rollout. Those in the IATF should take note seriously the honorable Senators' observations and follow them faithfully.
