TESDA-GPSAT extension campus opens in Masantol

- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Gonzalo Puyat School of Arts and Trades (TESDA-GPSAT) opened its extension campus in this municipality.
Mayor Danilo Guintu, TESDA Central Luzon Director Balmyrson Valdez, TESDA Pampanga Director Eric Ueda, and former Congresswoman Anna York Bondoc led the inauguration of the campus located at the Golden Residences in Barangay San Nicolas here.
Valdez said various technical and vocational courses through GPSAT program will be offered to Masantoleños via the extension campus.
GPSAT is a Pampanga-based institution that offers technical and vocational courses under TESDA and Commission on Higher Education.
"For the meantime, welding course but we are preparing other courses such as cookery and electronic soon," he said.
Aside from training, enrolled students will also receive free equipment and materials needed for their course.
Guintu, for his part, expressed gratitude to TESDA for opening more opportunities to Masantoleños through the extension campus.
"Skills training provides bigger opportunity to Masantoleños, especially to those who are not able to get tertiary education. Through TESDA, Masantoleños can find better jobs," he sai d.
He also assured that more courses will be offered in the campus soon to cater to more students who seek other skills.
The TESDA building was donated by the local government here and is adjacent to other school buildings inside the Golden Residences.
