‘Move-it Model’ to end TB eyed in Tarlac
TARLAC CITY -- The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) TB Platforms Project inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with various partners in Tarlac for the implementation of the Move-it Model.
Partners include the Department of Health, Provincial Health Office and Loving Mother General Hospital and Diagnostic Center Inc.
“Move-it Model started from a pipe dream for the Public-Private Partnership and Private Sector Engagement to address the gap of sputum testing in the private sector through rapid Tuberculosis (TB) diagnostic test where high diagnostic accuracy leads to proper treatment of patients,” USAID's TB Platforms Field Operations Area Manager for Region 3 Rhodora Cruz said.
It aims for faster TB case detection, care, treatment and prevention in meeting the targets and the successful implementation of TB programs in the community level.
“This partnership also secures commitment from local government units and public testing centers to facilitate sputum collection thru STRiders or other available transport mechanism for testing and conduct TB bacteriological confirmatory testing,” Cruz explained.
“Also prepare and release sputum test results; and coordinate with STRiders or other available transport mechanism to pick up sputum test results and deliver to Loving Mother General Hospital and Diagnostic Center Inc.,” she added. (PIA 3)
