Angeles mayor wants traffic signagesin Kapampangan
ANGELES
CITY – Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin, Jr. said traffic signages in the Kapampangan language will be put up in the city's major thoroughfares in September.
"Bilang Angeleños, mumuna tamu dapat managuyod king kultura at salitang Kapampangan (As Angeleños, we should be the first ones to advocate culture and use of the Kapampangan language)" Lazatin furthered, urging his constituents to promote and preserve the Kapampangan culture and language.
This move is the first-ever in Angeles City, as well as in Pampanga province-wide, pursuant to a City Ordinance establishing Kapampangan as an official language of Angeles City and institutionalizing its use in all sectors, alongside existing national and official languages.
According to Angeles City Tourism Officerin-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, the layouts for the Kapampangan traffic signages are already finished.

The building will supplement the number of existing buildings of the school and, once the ban on face-toface classes is lifted, will cater to more students coming from junior and senior high school levels.
Apart from the building, some 800 tables and chairs for the students and 80 tables for the teachers were also handed by the City Government to the school.
The City also awarded 40 pieces of laptops for the teachers, as part of the school’s distance learning and production activities even as the ban on face-to-face classes continues.
Through the utilization of the Special Education Fund, Santiago, along with the response on COVID-19 pandemic, is prioritizing the construction of more school buildings in the city.
As of this writing, the City is planning for the groundbreaking ceremonies of six more buildings.
