Flash floods hit some barangays with mostly ankle-to-kneedeep water except Barangay Almacen in Hermosa where floodwater­s rose up to four feet and Sitio Sunrise in San Juan, Samal, where the water rose five to six-foot deep.

Affected in Samal were some 85 persons who were transferre­d to the local school, and 98 individual­s from Pilar and Balanga City who were preemptive­ly evacuated.

Two major roads in the province -- the MacArthur Highway and Roman Highway - were all passable during the height of the storm although some portions of the former went under one-foot deep water.

Timoteo said all concerned disaster and rescue agencies are on standby and in close monitoring for any eventualit­y on the effect of the southwest monsoon enhanced by "Fabian" which has been bringing intermitte­nt moderate to heavy rains in the province.

She said the PDRRMO provides updates to concerned member agencies including the Metro Bataan Developmen­t Authority, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection,

Provincial Engineerin­g Office, Department of Public Works and Highways, Provincial Health Office, Provincial General Services Office, the Peninsula Electric Cooperativ­e, Department of Education and all local government units of the 11 towns and one city.
