How can you define your work? Is it a gaining of wealth or making a name for yourself? How can you view your work with your co-workers? We shall agree with the saying that “All labor is vanity and grasping for the wind.” But also, if we look at work as a part of God’s plan for our meaningful and fruitful life, it will no doubt build in us strength, strong character, and prosperity in this world. Being required to work and doing it will breed self-control, contentment, and fulfillment, diligence, and a hundred other virtues, which the idle never know. Work is a most challenging and exciting moment in the track to the ultimate end of life. It will help broaden us, not only enrich us but also we will have the experience which is a potent weapon against insecurities, hindrances, and obstacles in life’s journey. W ork for many people gives them financial security and assistance, self-fulfillment, a feeling of self-respect, progress, and accomplishment. Having a good job and being satisfied with it gives a person a sense of satisfaction. People who are happy in their jobs generally radiate a warm personality and are easy to get along with. If you have a job – be thankful because not everybody has one. God has endowed us with talents, skills, and abilities – what we can do with these gifts is up to us because nobody can get it for us. But God wants us to use our own talents in such a way that He can be glorified. Consequently, we are accountable and responsible for sharing these blessings given by God. Therefore, the ultimate end of work is a sense of happiness.
