ANGELES CITY--Surpassing its daily target of 6,000 jabs, the city government has inoculated more than 12,000 Angeleños in two consecutive days.

The vaccines were administered on August 11 with 6,094 residents inoculated, and August 12 with 6,017 residents i nocul at ed.

Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr.'s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas said the inoculations on the said dates surpassed the 5,817 vaccinated on Aug. 6, and 4,714 on Aug. 5.

With the launching of the family vaccination programs -- the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay and the Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay -- the city government aims to get closer towards herd immunity.

Ronda Bakuna is being implemented in villages with small populations using a mobile clinic and an ambulance, while the Sundo Bakuna is for villages with six

Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys fetching families going to City College of Angeles for vacci nat i on.

To date, the city government has vaccinated 109,875 for the first dose or 23.73 percent of the city's 462,928 population, while 64,794 or 14 percent were already vaccinated.

Mayor Lazatin said this would not be possible if not for the hard work of vaccination teams, rain or shine.

The vaccination teams are composed of Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and employees from City Health Office, Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center, Mayor's Office, Gender and Development Office,

City Social Welfare and Development Office, Angeles City Tourism Auxiliary, Angeles City Barangay Outreach, Business Permit and Licensing Division, Angeles City Tourism Office, Blood Bank, Angeles City Trafffic Development Office, Angeles City Police Office, City Nutrition Office, Office for the Senior Citizens Affairs, and CCA.
